Well maggie has mention that she still didn't know what I did or who I worked for so well I'm going to post this for her and anyone else. Guess I haven't been very clear in my earlier posts.
Well anyway, I work for a Video Duplication company called TeleTech Video. This first pic is pretty much want I look at and use everyday. They primararly make master dubs for many clients like Sears, Discovery Channel (TLC), a ton of local stuff like car commercials (which I wish I was editing) and a lot of closed captioning for these religious groups for there sermon broadcasts on WJYS here in Chicago. They also upload Radio Commercials to pretty much any station in the US. Just depends on the client. They have 3 Avid rooms and 1 Final Cut studio but most of the people who use them are Freelance people who just come in to use the gear. There was a hint by one of my bosses that someday I would be editing and not just making dubs. Its really interesting and fun sometimes but like the last two days it gets hectic because stuff comes in around 10 and it all has to be done ASAP which can suck when there are two freelance guys wanting to use gear and just all the patching and repatching and stuff not working right. But over all its been pretty cool and I'm getting the hang of it.
Its all for broadcast too which is something I really need to learn again. All the timecode requirments, calibration, etc. This is great experience and I hope it leads to something more. I don't want to do this forever I want to go back to what I've done before and edit. But I get Avid experience for free so thats cool.
I'm getting paid okay. Its really only 100 dollars less than what I was making back home so that is cool. Could be worse. And its salary which is different. I'm used to being on a clock and having to sit there just to get hours when there is nothing to do. Here I could leave early if that ever happened. But it seems like thats rare. So far I haven't had to stay later than 6pm.
Getting to and from work is okay. Its a lot of walking and the train is hit or miss on how packed it is. So far I've only snag a seat 4 times and only had to wait for another train twice. So its new now but it will get old fast. And the winter...I'm not looking forward to that. I would rather sweat when its hot like it is than freeze to death walking the 6 some odd blocks to work.
I work right near the lake which is cool. I thought I took a picture of it today but I didn't so I'll have to do that tomorrow. Its fun at lunch just chilling and watching all the boats go by.

Okay this first picture is a google map to show you where i work. The location it marks is not right. The street is a little werid when you get around the Pier. I guess my company is on Ohio Street but its address is Lake Shore Drive. But right to the left of the big X there is a red dot and that is where I'm at. Also on the Chicago Picture the arrow points to where I'm at. I'm behind that big Black Condo Building but that's basiclly where I'm at. Yeah I'm right in the middle of downtown. Its really cool. What else. Well this last picture is just what my walk looks like everyday. There is a Hot Dog place near here that I usually go eat at everyday when I have cash and I'll have to take a picture of that. They have the best corn dogs and while you wait they give you Italian Ice to snack on. Its so good.

Well that's it for now. Later!
