3, 2, 1 and I'm having fun.

Well sorry for the lack of update. Once I got home I went into sad mode cause I really wanted to be back in Chicago. I'm so ready to move and start a new life its not even funny. Norman has always been my home but now It just seems like a trap that I'm screaming to get out of. Anyway, where was I....

Well I don't have any pics from that night out. A friend of Matt's took some but I haven't received them yet. If I do I'll add then. Cause it was a crazy fun night. Matt's friends are really cool and as Devin is the only one I can remember the name I have my work cut out of me. I''m so bad with names.

Well this first picture is Toby, matt's crazy huge dog. He's a really good dog but when you first meet him he pretty much attacks you. He's just playing and happy to see you but talk about biting. The second picture if Matt taking him out for a walk before we left for the day. Not sure if you can see it but Toby unleashed his Demoralizing Roar at some guy walking by. He reminds me so much of Morgan. She would bark at pretty much anyone walking by the apt even if she's seen them a million times before. Nice missing Morgan. Best Dog EVER!

Well after getting that all done we headed off for the train to downtown. I'm not much of a picture taker so I didn't want to look like a retarded tourist so I just kept it to myself. But it was a fun right. It probably sounds like I'm the biggest dork in the world but the train ride was awesome. Just the fact that their transportation system is so much better than anything Oklahoma has just makes it fun. Didn't see any bums or crazy people which would have been interesting but just fun since its something you don't get to do...ever...here.

Well we got downtown and headed to Gino's to have Chicago style pizza. Downtown was pretty much full of people since it was a Saturday and probably the first day in a long time that it wasn't snowing or below freezing. The wait wasn't to bad but if we got there later closer to lunch time it might have been. We got out of the cold and sat down inside waiting for our table.

It took about an hour to get the pizza but it was very good. Nothing like what I've had in Oklahoma that's for sure. I guess you can write on the walls cause it was everywhere with peoples names and dates of when they were there but since I didn't have a sharpie I had to just look at this.

Well after lunch we headed down toward Millennium Park. The only real thing to say besides it was fun is just this picture to show how cold it had been in Chicago. Whenever a body of water can freeze over I'm pretty much sure that its been really cold for a long time. Oh and the gay Ice sculpture sitting outside.

Then these two pictures of of the Amphitheater and this Earth thing that you could walk underneath and it made you really dizzy because it well just believe me it did make my stomach turn. But a cool picture from outside of it.

Then our last stop before heading home was the fountain that's on Married with Children. Forgot the name of it but I don't want to Google it so anyway. The second picture Matt loves I'm not to big on it cause I look funny. But oh well I am a funny looking guy I guess.

Well that was pretty much the end of the outing that day. We took a cab back to the Hancock building cause we wanted to end the day with a martini in the observation lounge but the line was crazy long. So we just ended up going across the street to buy a scarf (I have a few new things from the trip for the cold weather but nice its like 70s here in Oklahoma) and then taking the bus back home.

The rest of the night ended up being dinner at this restaurant close by and then meeting up with Matt's friends for the rest of the night. Sunday ended up being indoor watching episodes of ROME and Little Miss Sunshine. It was a great trip and I don't know if I can make another before I move but I am so excited about moving. Now I just need to save more money and find a job. Alright that's it for now. Cheers and Thanks a Lot!

(Hic)...my head hurts!

I'm going to keep this short and post more when i get home tomorrow. I've had a blast for the short time I've been here. This city is great and I feel kind of already at home with it. Anyway, i'm hungry and my head hurts so here is a pic for the meantime.

10, 9, 8, and we're breaking away!

So after a long day yesterday I finally made it to Chicago. 13 hours in a Truck is not fun but it was worth it.

Yesterday morning I got up really early and made it out the door by 6:30 am. It has been a long time since i got up that early. But once I was driving I was fine. I passed my brother going to work which was cool. But enough about that....back to the trip.

This picture is my truck in front of Matt's Apt. It snowed last night but all that snow around it was already there. I had to gun it to get into the spot so I think my truck is pretty much stuck. And its not going to be above freezing so I will probably have to dig it out to get home.So starting off down the turnpike this early in the morning and this was probably the worse of the weather i encountered while driving. You can't see it but the whole road was covered in ice. It look like once solid sheet and the semi's were driving like 80 miles an hour. So that was kind of scary but I got over it. There really isn't much to say from this point on till Chicago. So pretty much, went through Tulsa.....blah, then Joplin...blah, then St Louis. My whole goal since I've never been to St. Louis except the airport was to get a picture of the Arch. This is pretty much the closest i could get because right after this photo I had to turn on this exit and like big trucks and cars and traffic and well I pretty much almost died. I just had my hands at 10 and 2 and was screaming. Just trust me it was that scary.
Then off to Springfield. Pretty much after St. Louis you could see how much snow they got from that storm. The roads were fine but everything else was covered in like feet of snow. It was really pretty. I love snow but in Okieland all we get is ice and it sucks.

Then it got dark and well this picture pretty much explains it. Traffic is insane here and St Louis was bad but this was worse. They don't have the driving hospitality that most Oklahomans have. If you don't more or get out of the way well then they run you over. So this last picture is pretty much all i could do and since I didn't want the flash going off it just made a mess. But all I have to say about driving into Chicago downtown was the view was incredible. I was pretty much awestruck. The Lights, Navy Pier, all just beautiful.

Well today we are going downtown and walk around Michigan Avenue and just go see the sites. So more pictures will be on the way.

5 days and counting....

Well I've been busy with work and stuff so probably until i get back from Chicago this coming weekend there probably won't be any posts. Just depends. Anyway I look forward to hanging out with my friend taking lots of pics and maybe a story or two. We seem to get into trouble wherever we go. So excited. Just wish I didn't have to wait so long. Anyway, maybe a post or two before I leave, but then.....maybe not. So I'm rambling, Chow!
